Resuming from 4/0 on Day 5, in pursuit of 328, Team India created history by beating Australia by three wickets in a thrilling fourth and final Test to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the third time in a row (since 2016-17). Moreover, the win is very special given this became India's second successive Test series win on Australian soil.
Chasing 328, India lost opener Rohit Sharma (7) but youngster Shubman Gill (91) stood tall and provided a perfect platform to consolidate with his career-best score, an innings laced with 8 fours and 2 sixes. From thereon, Cheteshwar Pujara (56) and Rishabh Pant's 89 not out propelled the visitors to a historic series win and broke Australia's 32-year unbeaten record at their fortress The Gabba, Brisbane.
